First Place; Cornell University Libraries Graphic design competition. Solo competition entry (1994).

A.I.A Honor Award; Cleveland Chapter A.I.A, Recognized for the design of a student outreach center in Boca Raton, Florida. Awarded to the design team of Fritz Johnson, Robert Cassani, and Phillip Strada (1991).

Second Place; A.C.S.A. / Lois Foundation, national student design competition. A competition entery for the design of a student outreach center to be located on the campus of the College of Boca Raton. Awarded to the design team of Fritz Johnson, Robert Cassani, and Phillip Strada (1991).

First Place; Ohio State University, Development of Architecture regional student design/ build competition. Jointly awarded to the Kent State and Ohio State University design teams (1990).

Second Place; A.I.A. / A.C.S.A. / United Technologies, International student design competition.The program called for an international banking complex to be located at the termination of the axis of the Champs-Elysees at La Defense, Paris. Awarded to a design team of 9 students; project manajed by Fritz Johnson (1989). Published : Progressive Architecture 9/90.

Second Place; A.B.B. / O.C.B.A., regional student design competition. Competition entry for the design of a furniture showroom featuring masonry as the primary construction material. Solo competition entry (1988).

First Year Design Award; Kent State University. Awarded to a student nominated by the faculty for outstanding work in the first two semesters of core design curricula. Award shared by Brian Frolo, Fritz Johnson, and Amy Stein (1987).

Competitions

Yangon City Center; Yangon, Myanmar. Winning competition entry for a 186,000 square meter mixed-use superblock in downtown Yangon. Lead Designer (1997). 

Port of Masan Master Plan; Masan, South Korea. Master plan and design concept for new city expansion and commercial port, commissioned by the Hyundai Corporation.Lead Designer (1997).

    

Mok Dong Entertainment Complex; Seoul, South Korea. 165,000 square meter mixed-use commercial complex including high-rise office and residential towers, electronic mall, major retail space, and sports and fitness facilities for the Daewoo Corporation. Member of design team (1997).

Manggarai Transportation Center; New Jakarta City, Indonesia. Winning competition for a new mixed-use transportation center combining retail spaces with ril and bus-sing terminals. Member of comprtition design team (1996).

   

Mixed-Use tower; Jakarta, Indonesia. Winning competition for a new 80-story mixed-use tower in the Golden Triangle district of Jakarta. Member of design team (1996); Published: L'Arca, 6/97.

Projects

Emergency operations Center; Camp Murray, WA. New 27,000 square foot E.O.C. featuring base-isolator seismic design and type II-N construction throughout. Member of construction documents team (1996).

Pacific Place; Seattle, WA. 700,000 square foot retail shopping and entertainment complex in downtown Seattle. Member of construction documents team (1996-97).

Kangbuk Samsung Hospital; Seoul, South Korea. New 75,000 square meter 700 bed hospital in downtown Seoul that includes nursing tower, diagnostics and treatment center, surgery, ambulatory care and outpatient center. Member of design development team (1996). Seattle University Housing; Seattle, WA. Master Use Plan and conceptual design for a 300 unit housing project and 600 car garage to be administered for the university by a private developer. Member of design team during Master Use Permite phase (1997).

Northgate Mixed-Use Project, Seattle, WA. Development potentials study for a new 120,000 square foot mixed-use shopping and entertainment center in North Seattle. Member of development potentials study team (1997).

Reebok World Headquarters, Boston, MA.
