Peter Papademetriou

 Peter Papademetriou is a teacher, a writer and a practicing architect. A native of Newark, New Jersey he did undergraduate studies at Princeton University and his professional M.Arch. at Yale University. He served on the faculty at Rice University in Houston, Texas, for 20 years, and has been Professor and Graduate Program Director at New Jersey Institute of Technology since 1988; he has lectured and taught in architecture programs in the United States and Canada. While at Yale, he was Co-Editor of Perspecta 12, the Yale Architectural Journal, which received the Architecture Critics Citation of the American Institute of Architects. He served as Correspondent with Progressive Architecture for twenty years, served as Contributing Editor to Texas Architect 1979-1987, and was for three years the first Executive Editor of the Journal of Architectural Education, subsequently serving two terms on the JAE Editoral Board. He has also written extensively in the international professional press, as well as several books. His professional practice has received AIA component and state design awards, in addition to publication.

Currently, he is engaged in a critical biography of the life and work of American architect Eero Saarinen, for which he received the Arnold W. Brunner Scholarship of the New York Chapter/AIA, support from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and a Fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
